12TH NOVEMBER 2016 ~ A few school representatives attended a seminar held at Hospital Permai, Johor Bahru and this event was organized by an NGO : GIAT - "Gabungan Ibu Bapa Anak-anak Istimewa" [translate: Parents of Children of Special Needs Group]. There were presenters who were not from the education department this time, namely a doctor, medical specialist and police officer.
Among the subjects being presented and discussed were ADHD and learning disabilities, bullying in Malaysian schools and juvenile crime.
I was a bit pessimist at first to attend this event as it was held on a Saturday morning. However, I found the talks were interesting and informative and I did not even fall asleep throughout the sessions.
Congratulations to GIAT for their effort and hopefully I could join other programmes organized by the group in the future:
