4th MAY 2024 ~ There was another museum on Malawati Hill. From the Historical Museum, walk downhill a bit a you would see a building with a colourful pedestrian bridge, and that was the Traditional Games Museum. You don't have to pay the entrance fee if you have bought the ticket for the Historical Museum.
The museum exhibited a collection of Malaysian traditional games which sure brought back childhood memories. Many of the games were close to our hearts and we had experienced playing, while a few we didn't know they even existed.
This was the arena for a game called "Galah Panjang" but in my hometown it was called "Belon Acah". A game we enjoyed a lot either at home or in school, which involved a lot of running and moving around.
In the basement area, visitors could experience the hands on sessions for a few games.
There was a time when the young ones had a lot of fun playing games and socializing with other kids instead of being glued to the screens of their gadgets. Childhood memories sure came flooding back when we were at this museum and many adults of my age could relate.
