18TH MAY 2024 ~ We managed to get a driver cum guide to take us around Batam Island which was introduced by one of the hotel staff. He was neither competent nor experienced but that was another story. The first spot he took us was Muhammad Cheng Ho Mosque, which should be the latest attraction here.
The architecture and colours of the holy building were of a Chinese temple actually. One could be easily misled by the appearance of this place. I found another Cheng Ho Mosque in Surabaya which had similar appearance with the one in Batam.
We spent just a short time there as the place was actually quite small and moved to the next destination.
