VISITING ORNAMENTAL FISH CENTRE IN PORT DICKSON

19TH OCTOBER 2026    ~ There was no proper plan during the short stay in Port Dickson and we just decided to visit Ornamental Fish Centre.

This place is under the management of the Fishery Department. It is opened every day [including weekends and public holidays] from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is no entry fee.

There are small exhibits of ornamental fish, corals and there are also turtles outside the building.

We enjoyed ourselves a lot here. However, since it is a free for all venue, do not expect too much especially if you have been to the bigger aquariums like in KLCC or Langkawi.

There are videos of the aquamarine creatures HERE and HERE, where you can see the the moving images of the fish.

'TIS THE TIME TO RECYCLE AGAIN

It was time to visit the SWM Recycling Hub in Tampoi, to carry out my duty as a responsible citizen.

Unfortunately, there were too many plastic bags but too little space. The items sent today were only plastic materials. I will have to make a return trip after this.

I was furious as there was a car parked right in front of the recycling station. That should cause a lot of trouble to people who came to send their recyclable items as there was a very small space for us to open the lid and throw in the materials through the gaps. Hopefully nobody will park his/her vehicle next time when I come.

HOSPITAL REVIEW: KPJ BANDAR DATO' ONN

All this while, I had been visiting friends when they were warded in private hospitals. For the first time. I was a regular daily visitors at KPJ Bandar Dato' Onn Hospital in Johor Bahru when my sister was hospitalized for three nights [READ HERE].

This place sure had positive vibes but that cost a lot of money.

KPJ Bandar Dato' Onn is one of the newest private hospitals in town. I found it less busy if compared to other places I had been to.

For one thing, there were not many shops or eating places in the building. Unfortunately I found the common cafeteria not that interesting, as there were not many choices of food available.

On the last day, my niece and I went to get breakfast in the other cafeteria which was more hipster and modern, and the food prices were slightly expensive.

All in all, I would treasure the experience. I was glad that I made the decision to send my sister here and was happy with the service provided. Even though the experience was a pleasant one, I hope I don't have to check in [or for someone else's behalf] at the hospital again.

THE LUNCH SESSION AT GELANG PATAH

1st NOVEMBER 2026    ~ After driving past this restaurant in Gelang Patah many times, only today we decided to get lunch here. Periuk Kampung serves traditional Malay village dishes. We were there after 2.00 p.m. but there were still many people dining in when we arrived.

We took the lunch set for two. The main dishes were Daging Masak Lemak [Beef in Coconut Milk Gravy] and Gulai Ikan [Fish in Chili Gravy]. We both personally think that these two dishes were not of the right combination when eaten with rice.

All in all, lunch was good. It was better than the previous gastronomic adventure we had had in Tanjung Piai with similar set lunch.
