This was the movie I watched... 10 days ago. Too many other important things to post, so now is the right time.
The first reason I went to watch this movie was I wanted to watch a comedy. The second reason, I wanted to see Cameron Diaz. The story line was similar to a few Malay dramas that you might have watched on television. A wife caught her husband having an affair with another woman, and then both women discovered that the man had another affair with another woman. So these ladies ganged up to teach him a lesson. The end.
The movie was okay but I was really happy to see Miss Diaz on the silver screen again.

FROG VLE IN-HOUSE TRAINING FOR ADMINISTRATORS
Sunday, 11th May ~ A 2-hour training slot was done today for administrators. We were briefed and had a hands-on session with the chrome books in the library. With this introduction, we hope that the academic staff could use the Frog VLE to submit their daily lesson plans electronically to the senior assistants and the heads of department by next year.
This was not the end, this was just the beginning. More sessions would be held soon, real soon.

ANOTHER REPLACEMENT SCHOOL DAY ON SATURDAY
10th MAY 2014 ~ Today was a replacement school day, the fourth time this year. We decided to have a potluck to thank two trainees from UTM who will be leaving us at the end of the week. There is another eating session in a bigger scale after this and that is one reason for the earlier session.
Puan Noraliza Mazni was kind enough to bring "pulut kuning" [yellow sticky rice] to celebrate her birthday in the staff room. We all sang her a birthday song, Indonesian version, while she was cutting the cake. Saturday replacement school day was not dull anymore.

WHAT HAPPENED IN SCHOOL ON FRIDAY
Friday should be a weekend holiday for students and teachers. Many may think that school will be abandoned on Friday and everybody will be away. That was not the case for SMK Taman Universiti. There were other activities going on but I did not take photos. So here were the things that people do on Friday in school.
(1) Angklung Practice (but this was during the morning tea break)
(2) Taekwando Training
(3) Silat (Malay Martial Art) Training

AL-ARABI RESTAURANT IN TAMAN UNIVERSITI
[8th May 2014] When I have the craving for Arab food, I would go to Al-Arabi Restaurant at "Medan Selera" in Taman Universiti. It is not a posh restaurant, more of a stall in a food court so the price should be reasonable. There are not many people eating there in the evening so I could just sit and chat for long hours although the risk of being recognized by other people is still high. When I was there for dinner, I saw two of my ex-students' mothers eating at the same place, but luckily they were at different stalls further away.
I was there with Mr. Amirul Husni on a Thursday evening as we had a very important matter to discuss, very important indeed.
There are really fat cats roaming around that place and that should be one reason to visit the place again. I always feel as if I am in Istanbul when there are many cats walking around freely. :)

HOTEL REVIEW - TUNE HOTEL DOWNTOWN KUALA LUMPUR
While I was clearing away my Picture Folder, I found these few pictures that should have made their way into my blog a long time ago. It is never too late to do so. I stayed at this hotel twice last year when I taught UTM SPACE programme in KL. I chose Tune Hotel Downtown KL, which is located at Jalan Sultan Ismail, as (1) the price was reasonable, and (2) it had easy access to LRT for me to move TBS bus terminal - UTM SPACE building - hotel. It should be a good place if you do not plan to stay long in the hotel room, especially for people traveling and working. If you book earlier, you will get a cheaper rate too.
The room was quite small but still it was very clean and comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay if I need to stay in KL next time.
