After we had finished observing all the exhibits, we went to the back part of the palace which was facing the sea. The weather was still not that kind, a bit of drizzle from early morning, the sky cloudy and the background was foggy.
there were actually four lions guarding the site |
At this spot, a few buildings were opened to the public. The rooms had their own functions but they were all decorated very beautifully. They were tiled wall-to-wall, ceiling-to-ceiling and pillar-to-pillar. Visitors were here just to admire the colorful tiles and the amazingly intricate design was a trademark of the Turks' work of art.
So it was time to bid farewell to one of the magnificent venues that I have ever visited. If you are planning to visit Istanbul, please be sure Topkapi Palace is one of the places in your itinerary list and you will need to spend a lot of time here in order to see everything it has to offer.
