14th OCTOBER 2017 ~ We were supposed to stop at Bili Bili Lake on our way back home but then the traffic was quite bad so it was already dark when we arrived there. We still stopped at the stalls by/on the lake for dinner.
Not much could be found about Bili Bili Lake on the Internet but I read from Wikipedia it is actually a dam that serves the purpose of flood control, hydroelectric power and irrigation.
There were many restaurants there but visitors were expected to sit on the floor while enjoying their meals - hence the name "Lesehan". [Learn a word a day!]
The freshwater fish was chosen by the guide, Mr. Abd. Rahman, as he should know better which fish would be good.
I always have doubt when it comes to eating freshwater fish as it tends to have this extreme "fishy" taste. However, this one was really good and the thick and soft meat was delicious, without that prominent fish smell.
The fish came together with "sambal" [squashed chili], strips of young mango and fried water spinach. It was such a healthy dinner I had had.
