MY HOMETOWN GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE: GOING WESTERN FOR DINNER, FOR ONCE

I was invited to join a group of colleagues (of SMK Dato' Jaafar) for dinner at Wadihana Steakhouse. Once in a blue moon, I got to eat (expensive) western food at an (expensive) western restaurant.

Wadihana Islamic Steakhouse was jam packed with people when we arrived at about 8:15 p.m. A table had already been booked before going or else we would not be able to find seats for dinner for four.

Basically this was a dinner gathering of four young people over good food, and chatting for a longer period of time which will be something quite impossible to do in school.

Everybody turned carnivores that evening and enjoyed the meat served on the table.

There was also a selection of tempting desserts on the shelves but they were all overpriced, in my opinion.

People were sitting beside us were celebrating someone's birthday, and Hello Kitty appeared to give a surprise to the celebrated guest. I was expecting they would share the birthday cake with us but that did not happen.

A packet of free coffee was given when one spent more than RM200 at the restaurant. We were lucky that two packets of coffee were sent to us, it could be our lucky evening.

We only found there was a pianist playing live before we went out.

THE VERDICT: the food was good and should be worth the money spent, and the company of friends/colleagues over scrumptious food made it even better.

THANKS Mr. Christopher Emmanuel Raj, who also happens to be my ex-student of SMKTUN, for your kind deed footing the bill for whatever reason you have and may God repay your kindness.
