CELEBRATING MY LAST BIRTHDAY IN SCHOOL - PART ONE

 

There was some sort of plan to throw a surprise birthday celebration for me this morning during assembly but I could already smelled something fishy much earlier.

Thanks to everybody who had worked hard for the surprise birthday celebration with the students and teachers of SMK Dato' Jaafar. This should be the very last birthday celebrated in school and would definitely be a memorable one.

THE BREAKFAST SESSION AT USJ WITH MY TESL COMRADE

   29TH SEPTEMBER 2023    ~ Puan Hazlina Aziz was kind enough to take me to breakfast on my second day of my stay in USJ. The place she took me to was Ubi Kayu Restaurant [TRANSLATE: tapioca] which was less than one minute drive from the hotel I was staying.

Too bad we could not gossip for too long as she had to start her work from home real soon. However, there would be another meeting for dinner in the evening with more people from the group.

THE LUNCH DATE WITH THE HUSBAND AND WIFE FRIEND AT USJ

28TH SEPTEMBER 2023 ~ When I arrived at Section 9 USJ in the morning, a UPM TESL friend [class of 1993] and her husband, were kind enough to take me out for lunch. They fetched me at my hotel and took me to Restoran Jaring, somewhere near Sunway Pyramid.

This restaurant offered a large variety of Malay dishes to be eaten with white rice for lunch. This should be a popular eating place as almost all the seats were occupied when we arrived.

Thanks to Puan Maslinda Mohd Dahalan and Mr. Nasaruddin for the introduction episode of my gastronomic adventure in USJ. There was another unplanned meeting with them the very next day, but that would be another story in another post.

ATTENDING THE WEDDING OF MS DINIE SANIAHTUN AND MR HAFIZ ISMAIL

Today was the wedding reception of Ms Dinie Saniahtun, an ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti. The event was held at Rumah Abang Jamil, a wedding event venue at the city centre. I just got to know that Ms. Dinie wedded her ex-schoolmate, Mr. Muhammad Hafiz Ismail, when I was already seated at the dining table with other ex-students.

Wishing both the bride and groom a happy marriage life ahead filled with love and joy.

I have a string of wedding receptions to be attended for the coming weeks, all at far away places.

THE REUNION THAT HAPPENED AT THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF A TESL FRIEND'S SON

   30th SEPTEMBER 2023    ~ The wedding reception of Puan Hayati Burkhan's son was held at Dewan KT Anggerik, Glenmarie, Shah Alam. When she invited the people from the UPM TESL Class of 1993 group to the event, a mini reunion had already been expected to happen.

Unfortunately I was still recuperating from the fever I had had a few days earlier before the event and was still a bit under the weather. However, I was still trying my very best to blend in with friends who were present at the reception.

Congratulations Puan Hayati Burkhan on the addition of the new member into the family. May we all be blessed with long lives and good health so we could see each other again in similar events in the future.
