THE LAST MEAL AT THE AIRPORT BEFORE DEPARTING

30TH MAY 2023    ~ The most convenient way to get lunch before leaving Brunei was finding an eating place at the airport. We saw this Jolibee Restaurant, which I don't think could be found many places in Peninsular Malaysia, and wanted to get our first experience dining in.

Jolibee is actually is Filipino owned company which has branches in Sabah, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.

It looked like just another fast food restaurant but I think we had more choices of food here. I, for example, decided to have Bolognese Spaghetti instead of the usual burgers and fries.

That should conclude our gastronomic adventure in Brunei. I could just tell people I would be returning back to Bandar Seri Begawan for its food, if people were to ask: Why Brunei again?

GOING EAT-ALL-YOU-CAN KOREAN ONE FRIDAY AFTERNOON

15TH SEPTEMBER 2023 ~ It was getting extremely difficult to get all the gossip girls to sit together at the same time nowadays so we had to make do with the few available. This time we decided to go Korean and it was an eat-all-you-can session at K-Town, located at Holiday Villa building in Johor Bahru.

This should be the place for people who could: [1] eat a lot, or [2] gossip non-stop, or [3] both.

Being a first-timer there, I had nothing to complain. Surprisingly, I loved the hot Chrysanthemum Tea the most. And I don't mind going back there again.

This time, we had a photo shoot session outside the restaurant. At one moment, we imagined we were in Kundasang, Sabah. The next moment, we were already in Busan, South Korea. And a few people were deceived with the photos posted on Facebook.

Thanks people for the buffet lunch. Let's plan for the next gathering ASAP.

THE POST WEDDING RECEPTION GATHERING

16TH SEPTEMBER 2023     ~ After the wedding reception [READ HERE], my friends/ex-colleagues decided to extend the meeting somewhere else. Initially we wanted to go this one cafe but it was closed when I reached the place. The next best option was to go AEON Permas Jaya which was nearby.

There was not much choice at the mall so we just settled for OldTown.

The food was actually quite good. The one that I loved the most was actually its Teh Tarik and I now know where to go to when the craving arises.

Thanks to all my ex-colleagues of SMK Taman Universiti for all the updates [READ: GOSSIPS] during the short time spent. We should do this again especially next year when I have a lot of time to spend.

ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF MS. AZIILAH YAHYA

Puan Sabariah Zainuddin, an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti who had already retired, invited me to the wedding reception of her daughter. Miss Aziilah Yahya is also an ex-student of the same school.

The event was held at Kotak Glass House located in Permas Jaya.

There were ex-colleagues who attended the reception at the same time when I was there.

Other than that, I got to meet the parents of ex-students and an ex-student who was the official photographer.

Congratulations Puan Sabariah Zainuddin on receiving another new family member into the family. Thanks a lot for inviting me to the reception and I appreciate that a lot.

DINNER DATES WITH FRIENDS FROM SEREMBAN

DINNER #1

12th SEPTEMBER 2023    ~The dinner date with an old friend of UPM TESL Class of 1993, Puan Sakinah Mohd. Ismail, and her husband happened at LC Catering. It was a last minute decision when the stall we wanted to go initially did not open.

We had ala carte dinner - white rice that came together with Garlic Chicken, Vegetable Soup and Fried Eggs. And it was good.

DINNER #2

13th SEPTEMBER 2023    ~ It was a relief when Puan Sakinah and her husband agreed to go for buffet dinner at Infusion Cafe in KSL Hotel on their second day stay in Johor Bahru. At least I did not have to crack my head to think of a place to get good for my guests.

I was delighted to know that they loved the food served at the cafe. Too bad they came on weekdays all the way from Seremban when I had to go to school so I couldn't entertain them much. Hoping to see them again for more gastronomic adventures some other time.
