ATTENDING A WEDDING RECEPTION OF EX-COLLEAGUES' DAUGHTER

Tn. Hj. Abd. Aziz Mahmood, an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti, and her wife, Pn. Hjh. Zaiton Mohamad, an ex-colleague of SMK Gelang Patah, invited me to their third daughter's wedding reception held at their house in Taman Pulai Indah. I was truly touched by their constant thought of inviting me to the receptions for their children without fail despite the fact that we are no longer working together under one roof for quite a long time.

I met their daughter, Puan Alia Kamalia, who is an ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti from the SPM batch 2005.

There were no other people that I recognized attending the reception except the parents of two other ex-students. It was always a pleasure to be able to meet with old colleagues and wedding would be one of the events reunion always happens.

"MERAJUT NUSANTARA" EXHIBITION AT NATIONAL MUSEUM OF INDONESIA

14th MARCH 2020 ~ There was another big exhibition in one of the halls of the National Museum of Indonesia. Entitled "Merajut Nusantara", I think the theme of the exhibition had to do something with fashion, photography and poetry.

The place was huge and spacious and not many people were visiting on that day so we could spend a lot of time there. I was glad there was this exhibition going on so we could hang out longer in the museum as there were no other tourists attractions to go to during the C-19 pandemic in Jakarta.

YOUNG MEN'S DAY OUT AT ZAITUNA RESTAURANT

3rd JANUARY 2021 ~ It was my regular eating out session with Mr. Syazwan Shavarein. This time, however, he brought along another two ex-schoolmates [of SMK Taman Universiti SPM batch 2013]: Mr. Fahmi Foad and Mr. Syafiq Jaini.

The meeting venue was Zaituna Restaurant because we wanted to have something not too heavy. Hence there were pizzas and shawarma kebab [sandwich Arab Style]. It was a Sunday and the place was full with diners, even it was already 3.30 p.m.

It was good to get to see my ex-students again. I do not know when this is going to happen again as people always get too busy with other things most of the time but I hope we could sit and chat again some other time in the future.

A 2-IN-1 CELEBRATION ONE SATURDAY AFTERNOON

2nd JANUARY 2021 ~ Even though it was already the second day of January, it was still not too late to celebrate the new year. A date was set with three other ex-colleagues of SMK Taman Universiti at SDS Cafe in Taman Universiti - Puan Zakiah Abdullah, Puan Nadzlina Daud and Puan Yusidah Md. Yusof.

Besides the delicious food, it was the chance to sit together and talk and get ourselves updated that had made the meeting more significant.

It was the opportunity to give away retirement to Puan Zakiah who opted out for her early retirement as PK Kokurikulum [TRANSLATE: the Senior Assistant of Co-curriculum] at SMK Taman Universiti 2.

Other than that, we also celebrated the birthdays of Puan Nadzlina and Puan Yusidah, which were on the 31st December and 1st January, respectively.

Hopefully we could do this again some other time, especially when things get better. And perhaps we could get more people to gather.

ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF MS. NURFAZWA ROSLY

I was invited to a wedding reception of another ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti, Ms. Nurfazwa Rosly - and I could not remember exactly from which batch. The event was held at the Taman Mutiara Rini Community Centre. It was raining when I arrived there at about 3.00 p.m. and there were not many guests under the tent.

This time I did not get to meet many ex-students or anybody familiar. 😀

THE LAST EATING OUT SESSION FOR THE YEAR 2020

30th DECEMBER 2020 ~ There is this one popular stall very near to my house selling "Mee Celup" [translate: dipped noodles]. Basically it is noodles in soup, East Coast style. Many locals come to this place to eat and I was there with other colleagues and it was only my second time.

We were there during lunch hour and almost all the seats were taken.

I don't mind going back there again for its Mee Celup, and perhaps I need to check and try other food that is sold.
