TASHKONAK BOUTIQUE HOTEL, ISTANBUL

at the entrance

I was staying at Tashkonak Boutique Hotel in the Sultanahmet area. {Find out what a boutique hotel is by clicking HERE). One person to thank for recommending this place is Puan Faridah Wazir who was here with her family last December. There are many reasons why you should stay here. (1) The hotel is very near to the Blue Mosque as well as the other attraction like Alya Sofia and Topkapi Palace. The mosque was just within five minutes walk and we were happy because we could perform our "Subuh" (dawn) prayers there.

THE ROOM

(2) There are also restaurants and grocery stores around the hotel. You can get your shuttle bus service to get back to the airport as there are many tourist agency offices that will make life easier. Other than that, if you don't want to go to the big bazaars crowded with people to shop, there are many shops and another bazaar located nearby.

(3) The price was also reasonable. You can either book the accommodation directly by visiting the hotel's website or you can use Agoda or other similar service providers.

(4) I like the hotel most because of its ambience. It is very homely and located in the neighbourhood of a Turkish village. After a few days staying there, I felt as if I was already a local there.

THE FRIENDLY PEOPLE OF TASHKONAK

(5) The staff were friendly and helpful. You could feel the warmth and hospitality when you are here. Most probably because the building could not accommodate too many people at one time, so you will get their undivided attention. :)

If I were to come back to Istanbul for another visit, I am going to stay there again most probably and I will not hesitate to recommend this place to other people.
