I jumped on the bandwagon and joined the long queue to buy the popular "Putu Bambu Juriah" in Ayer Hitam. We were on our way back to Johor Bahru from Seremban on the 9th September 2018 when we decided to make a stop at this small town along the highway.
"Putu Bambu" is a sweet Malay dessert (or "kuih). It is made of rice flour which is stuffed with coconut sugar and steamed in bamboo moulds and lastly coated with grated coconut.
The "putu bambu" is more pricey if compared to the non-viral ones but that is the price we have to pay to eat something popular. The stall is located buy the roadside heading to the toll house near the crossroads of Batu Pahat/Ayer Hitam/Kluang, this should be one example feng shui does play a role in making sure business is good.
fried baby crabs as the side dish :) |
The food should be best eaten when it is still hot. Believe me, it won't taste the same once you take it home.
