VISITING THE MARINA BARRAGE IN SINGAPORE [PART 1]

19th OCTOBER 2018 ~ After lunch at Geylang Serai, we all were taken by the bus to Marina Barrage which is located at Marina Bay, just beside the Gardens by the Bay. This was my first time here so I was eager to find out what this place had to offer. We however had just a short time to spend as we had to hurry home to avoid the congestion at immigration check point out getting out of Singapore.

A barrage is actually " a dam placed in a watercourse to increase the depth of water or to divert it into a channel for navigation or irrigation". [Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary]

As for the Marina Barrage, it is a reservoir and water catchment area in the heart of the city which has intelligently been turned into a recreation spot and tourist attraction.

The view by the sea side in a bright (and hot) Friday afternoon was definitely breathtaking.

And then I realized I had been separated from the big group. These people just disappeared.
