25th JANUARY 2020 ~ We headed straight to Pondok Batam Kuring Restaurant for lunch after the driver cum guide picked us up at Batam Centre Ferry Terminal. I was asking for "Nasi Timbel", where the rice should be wrapped in banana leaf in a cylindrical shape. However, they ran out of banana leaf so it was just served the ordinary way.
We were actually having a late lunch and there were not many customers at that time. The whole place had a good ambience and I think it would look beautiful at night. The food was good and the rice dish had a similar taste to "Nasi Ayam Penyet". After some time, I always find all the rice dishes which contained fried/grilled chicken/duck taste almost the same.
