During the MCO period, Muslims are not allowed to perform prayers at the mosque anymore for the fear this may spread the virus. It is very sad indeed as many people visit the holy buildings more during Ramadhan to carry out religious duties but we need to oblige to the instruction given for our own good. There is this tradition when mosques and "surau" [a smaller version of mosques] would prepare huge pots of "bubur lambuk", basically rice porridge with a lot of things inside like meat, chicken, peas, nuts, vegetables etc. This porridge will be packed and distributed to people for free, and most of the time we will have to go to the mosque to get the packets of "bubur lambuk" to bring home.
Today, I received my second delivery of "bubur lambuk" from the nearby "surau" (the first one was from the main mosque a few days ago). Some people are still trying to keep the tradition alive by cooking and delivering door to door this delicacy that one used to get easily during the fasting month. How we have missed so many things that we could do in Ramadhan. The best thing we could do is to stay home and pray the covid-19 pandemic will go away real soon. I already miss the old normal.
