18th DECEMBER 2022 ~ When Puan Nurhanim Hassan announced in the Whatsapp group that she was throwing a wedding reception for her daughter in Penang and inviting us, I think she never expected many people of the TESL UPM class of 1993 clan would be interested to attend.
The excitement began two weeks prior to the event.
There was the first group who took the ERL from Kuala Lumpur on Friday but made a detour to Sungai Petani with two other friends who were locals.
Then there was the second group who took the ERL and came on Saturday but went further north to Padang Besar after the wedding.
One friend drove all the way from Kuala Lumpur with her three daughters.
There were two other friends who were Penangites.
As for me, I flew from Johor Bahru on Friday, played solo tourist for two days, met friends before the reception and finally reunited with everybody on Sunday,
For once, we had to wear nice dress and shirt as the reception was held at Jen Hotel. It was the excitement to attend the wedding as well as to see old friends at the same time.
The photoshoot session started much earlier even before we left the hotels where we were staying. There were two different accommodation by the way for the two different groups.
This is just the introduction before the start of the ceremony.
