VISITING INDONESIA BANK MUSEUM - PART ONE

14th MARCH 2020 ~ Our mission to explore Jakarta did not really go well according to plan as almost all the attractions in the city were closed to the public. The Indonesian government just started to impose lockdown in the city - the day after I arrived. Fortunately, we managed to find one museum that was still operating - Indonesia Bank Museum.

From the architecture of the building, this could be an old colonial building left behind by the Dutch.

There was a group of students who were there slightly earlier than us for a school trip so we tried not to avoid them so as not to be mistaken as one of the group members.

I must say the building was majestic and had been well taken care of. Kudos to the authority who must have put a lot of effort to conserve this heritage landmark.

Basically this museum exhibited the history of economy and banking in Indonesia and we could see the role of the colonists in shaping the future of the nation.
