28TH FEBRUARY 2023 ~ I must say the most famous bridge in the country is Tamparuli Bridge of Kota Kinabalu. I finally got to walk on the bridge from one end to the other. And basically that was what other visitors did when they were there.
Legend has it that there were many obstacles to get the construction of this bridge to be completed. The bridge collapsed and several attempts to rebuild it failed. The locals then managed to communicate with the spirit living in the river. The bridge was believed to be built on a sacred site and the spirit was asking for a fair maiden for human sacrifice as a compensation. SCARY!
I managed to get a lot of photos there - thank God there were not many people on that day. You never know when you can come back to this place again.
Will try to find more information about this bridge later.
