BEING WITH THE ROYALS AT ROYAL REGALIA - PART ONE

    29th MAY 2023     ~ The Royal Regalia should be one of the highlights of the visit to Brunei. The place sure had gone through a lot of changes since I last came many years ago.

First of all, there was an entrance fee now. It was free of charge last time, I think.

Secondly, the last time I was there, visitors were not allowed to take any photos at all in any of the galleries except the hall at the entrance outside the exhibition rooms. Now, photography was only prohibited in wo halls which were guarded by army officers. You could take photos freely almost anywhere but only with your phones and not a real camera though. I wonder why was that so.

Basically I could categorize the exhibits into two categories: the items that belonged to the Sultan, the State and the Palace, and the items that were presented to the Sultan as presents.
