[CONTINUATION OF PART 1]
30TH MAY 2023 ~ After seeing the original and traditional Kampung Air, we were taken to the swamp area. The main activity here was to spot the Proboscis Monkey a.k.a long nose monkey in its sanctuary. We were not lucky as the monkeys seemed not to get out of its hidden spots to greet us.
The very last part of the cruise was the new and modern area of the water village. Here, we could see double storey concrete houses were built on stilts. This would be a huge contrast if compared to the wooden and old houses in the other section of the village, as if there was a segregation between the rich and the not so rich.
It looked like we were the only tourists on the river that morning.
It was an enjoyable boat trip in the morning before leaving Bandar Seri Begawan later in the afternoon.
This should be something you should not miss when you are in the city.
