10th JUNE 2023 ~ I decided to stop at Masjid Jamek Bandar Mersing before leaving the town for my afternoon prayers. This place was nostalgic as I once was here in the dawn of 31st August many years ago to celebrate the country's Independence Day with my students when they were chosen to take part in the state level parade.
This place had sure changed a lot. It looked as good as new and I just realized only the floor of the few front rows were covered with carpets.
As the mosque was located at a higher ground, one could get a panoramic view of the town with the sea and the sky in the horizon.
One good piece of news is that there was a new, huge block of toilets right at the entrance gate so this should be very convenient just in case you need to use the facilities. Just remember to stop there first as the building was quite far away from the mosque and you would have to go downhill/uphill if your forget to do that.
