ATTENDING THE WEDDING RECEPTION OF AN EX-COLLEAGUE'S SON

It is quite rare for the Malay community to hold wedding receptions on weekdays. However, today was a public holiday in conjunctions with Malaysia Day and I received an invitation from an ex-colleague of SMK Taman Universiti. Mr. Kamil Kassim held the reception for his son at Kolej Perdana Hall in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia [UTM].

The father of the groom was the only person I knew of all the people in the hall so it was only a short stay. It was kind enough of him top still invite me to the reception even though we were not in contact anymore.

Earlier, at the entrance of the university, I was greeted by an ex-student of SMK Gelang Patah, the first school where I was posted as a teacher. Mr. Norzaiham Katelan is currently the security officer attached to the institution. I am always happy when an ex-student takes the effort to say "hi" and introduce himself/herself.

That should be a wedding receptions hat trick - overeating continuously for three consecutive days.

WHEN TWO SIBLINGS HAD THEIR WEDDING RECEPTION TOGETHER

Two ex-students [of SMK Taman Universiti] who are siblings, Mr. Muhammad Hanis Abu Ba'dah [the elder brother] and Mr. Muhammad Hanif Abu Ba'dah [the younger brother] held their wedding reception today at DCM Hall, Taman Universiti.

As expected, I met some ex-students there. Most of them were of the batch of the elder brother. I wonder they had planned earlier to attend later and the younger sibling's batch to come later so as to avoid too many people crowding to take photos with the brides and grooms on the "pelamin" [TRANSLATE: decorated wedding stage].

It is always compulsory to take as many photos as possible especially when there are a lot of people you know at the wedding reception. And we did just that.

Congratulations to both pairs of the newly-weds, praying for your everlasting happy married life filled with love and joy.

THE ART EXHIBITION AT KLIA TERMINAL 1

I was in Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 on   17th July 2024   waiting for my flight to Kobe. I found out there was an Art Exhibition for the public. I had a lot of time to kill and I was for sure would not miss the chance to see the work of art which was free of charge.

Kudos to all the artists whose works of art was put on exhibition. I was also envious of talented people who were creative and artistic.
