one end of the street |
19th JULY 2024 ~ On the second day, I had to explore Kobe on my own as my ex-student who was playing tourist guide had classes until late afternoon. The first destination I went to was Motomachi Walking Street. It was actually a [very] long stretch of road with shops on both sides.
The walking street was 1.2 kilometres long with about 300 shops. Just imagine how far one had to walk from one end to the other. Shopping had been rebranded here - you could get healthier just by going shopping.
It was a hot summer afternoon and I decided to get a short rest and savour the green tea soft ice cream.
There were also second hand shops on the street.

When in Japan, you had to try its original green tea. I had mine with sugar and ice.
The cheapest t-shirt for souvenirs I found in Kobe was ¥1650, and that was about RM50.
If you are in Kobe, this should be the place for you to get your souvenirs.

I did not buy anything to bring home the first time, but I cam back again the next day and the day after that.
