3RD AUGUST 2024 ~ After the early dinner high in the sky [READ HERE], we decided to get some fresh air. The initial plan was to slow walk at Kampung Morten, the traditional Portuguese Village in Melaka but we could not find a parking space so we went somewhere else.
We still ended up walking by the river but decided to find seats at this open air eating place called Redtarbus Riverside, as stated on the menu, near a building called Hereen Place [which was actually a hotel]. We had no choice but to order food and drinks in order to sit and enjoy the surroundings at that cafe. That should be a valid reason to get supper earlier after the heavy dinner.
We could watch the river cruise boats passing by on the water and the colourful lights on the other side and their reflection on the river. The best part of it was the busker group playing live music and singing songs that we knew [some of] the lyrics and could relate to. There were moments when we would sing along and danced to the Dangdut beat and it was like yesterday once more. We could even request for a song, and "Tiara" was chosen by Puan Adila Ahmad.
This should be one moment that we would remember for a long time. Four friends [of UPM TESL Class of 1993] and one of the ladies' husband enjoying the music, the food and the company of each other by Melaka River. It had been one long day for everyone and that should wrap up the activities that involved mostly eating and chatting.
