29th MAY 2023 ~ We were actually not sure where to go to get food for dinner. For one thing, most of the shops and restaurants in the city are closed for business early in the evening. The only suggested place we found from the travel blogs was Gadong Night Market. In order to get there, we took the shuttle bus from the hotel and had to pay BND20 for the trip [which was more expensive than the food prices at the night market].
The night market was operating not in the open air like usual. The stalls were housed under one huge roofed spot which was connected to Gadong Market that was opened for business during the day.
There were many people, mostly locals, who came here for the variety of food available.
The food prices to me were quite cheap. For example, you could still get five pieces of the "kuih" (sweet desserts) for only BND1.
You could actually buy the food and drinks and have your dinner at the night market. There were tables and benches for visitors at a few spots and that was we did the next evening.
Gadong Night Market is the place for endless gastronomic adventure and the must-visit spot when you are in Bandar Seri Begawan.
