15TH JULY 2023 ~ Right after attending the wedding reception in Jitra, it was time to explore one part of Kedah. We were lucky to have a local who currently resides in Sungai Petani to act as the tourist guide and we were brought to this fisherman's village called Tanjung Dawai.
The spot that we went was the place the jetty was located. There was also a small stretch of beach and there were people fishing when we arrived. Other than that, other attractions would be small shops selling seafood products and there were also many food stalls.

Puan Suhana Abdul Jamal, the local guide, then took us to this one shop so that we could buy something to bring home.
We sure had our hands full with "belacan" [shrimp cake], salted fish and fish chips to bring home from Tanjung Dawai. Definitely the place you could shop till you drop.
