7TH SEPTEMBER 2022 ~ We had actually completed our Bako National Park trip with our tour guide, Mr. Mazlan. However, he was kind enough to extend his service hour by taking us to Bako Village which was located at the other side of the river, opposite the jetty.
We had to go to another smaller jetty and got into a taxi boat which took us to the village.
Mr. Mazlan took the lead and we just followed from behind. We would make short stops at certain spots when Mr. Mazlan had something to tell us about the village.
This was a typical Malay village by the river and the houses were built on stilts.
There was a primary school with big buildings here. Nevertheless, the children had to go to cross the river to get to the secondary school. There was a bridge connecting the village to the other part of the area by the way.
Mr. Mazlan invited us to his house to quench our thirst after walking around the village under the hot sun.
We had to thank Mr. Mazlan for his generosity and he was one friendly guy. We felt really at ease to chat with him throughout the trip. It was time to bid farewell to Bako Village and cross the river by boat one more time.
