An Indonesian comedy drama involving a family with a big conflict. A father with a huge male dominant ego who tried to stick to traditional values. The conflicts arose within the family, the children and wife who had to live their modern lives following the current social norm went against their father eventually.
The movie is interesting as the audience was exposed to the rich culture of Batak ethnic. And at the same time, a serious theme of family love and value was discussed thoroughly. It reminded me of my trip to Medan many years ago.
The original title of the movie is "Ngeri Ngeri Sedap" by the way.
