The lunch at Golden Pillow in Taman Daya was to celebrate my winning for the Recycling Competition organized by SWM. The person who was chosen as the date was Mr. Ariff Nizam, an ex-student of SMK Taman Universiti. We had actually planned to come to this place much earlier but only today Mr. Ariff had the right time to get our [late] lunch.
the open dining area |
There are two dining areas: the air-conditioned one or the open area.
We had our Golden Pillow which was a gigantic bread bun and inside was filled with mutton curry. You could also opt for chicken if you don't fancy mutton. The staff would cut the bun for the customers at the table.
One piece of bun could be shared by two people but we had a piece each. I would be happy to skip dinner after finishing the whole thing on the plate.
a very busy career man |
THE VERDICT: The mutton curry was super delicious, but must be eaten when both the bread and gravy were still hot. I don't think the taste would remain the same once they were already cold.
The place opens at 12:00 noon every day which means you could not eat the bread for breakfast. There are also other food choices like all kinds of rice variety dishes.
I would definitely come back to this place with other friends some other time. I now have a new eating place to go to when there are visitors in town.
