28TH JUNE 2024 ~ Puan Maslinda Mohd. Dahalan [a friend of UPM TESL Class of 1993] and her husband were kind enough to ask me to join them for lunch. Right after Friday Prayer at the mosque [READ HERE], I took a Grab Car and headed to Jaman Tory Restaurant at Indera Mahkota.
This place should be a popular eating spot in Kuantan. An ex-colleague also recommended this place the day before. The place was packed with customers when I arrived.
The dining hall was filled with classical and vintage items of the past. On one hand, they looked attractive and people would love to take photos. On the other hand, it made the place crowded especially when they were too many people dining in.
My friend ordered "Ikan Patin Masak Lemak Tempoyak", a kind of freshwater fish that was cooked in coconut milk with pickled durian. I am not really a freshwater fish enthusiast but this dish was absolutely delicious.
There were also many spots for people to pose outside the restaurant.
Being tourists to Kuantan, we took a few photos before leaving the place. If you are looking for good food, this should be one place to consider but be ready to mingle with the crowd.
