13th JULY 2024 ~ An ex-classmate of Budiman Class of SMS Muar, Mr. Mohd. Zaki Ikram, invited the class members to his daughter's wedding reception which was held in Sungai Ramal Luar, Selangor. A small plan was made in the class Whatsapp group to attend the event at the same time so that we could see each other again.
Initially, only a few responded in the Whatsapp group, confirming of attending. A few were still better as we could not expect everybody to be there.
One thing for sure, every was happy and excited to get to see old school friends one more time. There were a lot of people hopping from one table to another, trying to get acquainted with long lost buddies. A lot of photos were taken on that day as we never knew when we would have the opportunity to do this again.
What actually happened, more people turned up at the reception. Hence, a small informal class reunion of Budiman Class of 1986 took place.
There were friends whom we had not met since we left school 38 years ago. And there were also two friends who were from other class, but we were in the same dormitory in the school hostel.
After two hours of sitting, eating, chatting and taking photos, it was time to give the seats to other guests.
Then, as we were about to leave, I saw a few others who just arrived. The chatting and photo-taking continued.
"Parting is such sweet sorrow" [Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet] but we hope to get the chance to see each other again. Perhaps it is already time to organize a class reunion. The last time we had one was back in May 2011. [READ HERE]
As for the father of the bride, congratulations on the addition of the new member into the family. We hope to be invited again for similar event in the future.
