27th JUNE 2024 ~ If you are in Kuantan and do not know what to do at night, then you would consider Taman Kerang, which is located in the heart of the city. Near the mosque and the other landmark is the clock tower.
Taman Kerang is literally located as Cockle Park. There was one huge cockle replica [which I forgot to take its photo] at the park and you might wonder why it was named after the marine mollusc. Not because cockles were abundantly found in Kuantan, the monument was built by the owner of a Shell Petrol Kiosk in the 60's.
There were rows of stalls selling all kinds of items, like other night markets you have been to.
One of the rare items that were on sale: fresh flowers. People in Kuantan could be the romantic lots, buying fresh flowers for their loved ones from the night market.
One section of the night market was filled with stalls selling food, from where I got my dinner from that evening, and one packet of spaghetti was eaten for breakfast the next morning.
The place was more popular with the locals on weekends. Perhaps you could see more people of Kuantan if you come here at the right time.
