23rd SEPTEMBER 2018 ~ The Chinese Language Society of SMK Dato' Jaafar held a celebration for Mid Autumn Festival this evening in school.
"The Mid-Autumn Festival is a harvest festival celebrated notably by the Chinese and Vietnamese people. The festival is held on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar with full moon at night." [Wikipedia]
Of course there are other legends, folklore and tales related to the festival but you have to go search for them on your own.

There were students' performances during the festival, and guests were served mooncakes and pomelo (locally known as "limau bali"). The most important part of the event was the lighting up of the lanterns.
Everybody seemed to be excited to get the chance to light up the colourful lanterns and not everyone has had this opportunity. Congratulations to the Chinese Language Society for all the hard work to keep the tradition alive.
Go outside and look up at the sky, and you will see the full moon shining now.
