This was the hotel we were staying at during the one night getaway to Tanjung Balai: Karimun City Hotel.
LOCATION: Right beside the ferry terminal. Just walk out and you will find the hotel on your right side. You could even see the colourful hotel building from the ferry as you are approaching the jetty. Within walking distance to the town as well as the Coastal Area.
PRICE: very reasonable for the type of accommodation you will get, especially if you are not fussy.
MEALS: They not only served breakfast, but also dinner. My first time ever getting dinner in the hotel package. However, do not expect too much from the meals you are getting.
I only realized I could actually observe sunrise from the dining hall but it was already too late.
OTHER INTERESTING THINGS: The staff were friendly. They could arrange for you if you need any transportation to move around. We went exploring with two hotel staff on motorcycles. For a short stay, this place should suffice. I don't mind coming back again.
