26th OCTOBER 2019 ~ Attached to the Klapa Souvenir Shop was a branch of the famous Kong Djie Coffee. You will be amazed to find there are quite a number of coffee shops in town.
Kong Djie Coffee Shop started operation in 1943 and has been developing ever since with many outlets opened throughout the island, retaining its traditional of how coffee was prepared - boiled over charcoal fire. In a way, Kong Djie Coffee has become a significant product of Belitung and it has been a must-do for visitors to try its distinct coffee. And the three tall coffee kettles have been an iconic symbol of the island.
coffee beans/powder to bring home |
I did not drink the coffee though as I already had had my coffee fix for the day for breakfast. But next time I must have Kong Djie Coffee at its original stall at Tanjung Pandan Town.
