MY ROAD TRIP GASTRONOMIC ADVENTURE - EVERYTHING GRILLED IN HOT, COCONUT MILK GRAVY IN PEDAS

23rd AUGUST 2020 ~ Our final diversion from Bangi to Johor Bahru was through the exit to Rembau on the highway. Another last minute plan, after the cakes and coffee as the appetizer earlier, we decided to get everything grilled in coconut milk gravy in Pedas/Linggi area. The stretch of village road happened to be a popular stops for traveling people as I could see a number of eating places along the way, and most of them were all jam-packed with diners. We did not want to get into the hassle of queuing up in a long line so we searched for a place with no queue at all and found "Waghih Salai".

It was already past lunch hours but there were still many people inside the shop. Fortunately, vacant seats were still available and we happily hopped into the dining area.

Here, you could find almost everything in hot, coconut gravy - vegetables (tapioca shoots), fish, duck, chicken, beef and even quail.

my KELELO:
kelapa + lemon + longan
[coconut juice + lemon + lychee]

MY VERDICT: My chicken gravy was not hot as expected, but the tapioca shoots with fermented durian was. The place to go if you have a craving for a traditional Malay dishes - and the prices of the food were reasonable too. It was a wise decision made before we ended our 2-day gastronomic adventure and I myself had to be happy to be fatter when I reached home.
