23rd MARCH 2019 ~ The next spot in the itinerary was Busan Tower, which was just a stone's throw away from the Modern History Museum - except it was located on the top of a hill so it was an ascending walk all the way.
going up and up |
I was a bit too early for spring hence the bare branches on the trees.
Busan City viewed from the top of the hill |
Busan Tower is a symbol of Busan that stands proudly 69 m above sea level at a height of 120 m. The top of the tower is modeled after the baldaquin of Dabotap Pagoda in Bulguksa Temple, Gyeongju.
Loved by Busan citizens and tourists alike, the tower offers a stunning night view and plenty to see, such as the Statue of the Great Admiral Yi Sun-sin, the Bell of the Citizens, a flower clock and a bust of the Busan-based independent activist, Baeksan An Hee-je.

Unlike other towers I had visited before, Busan Tower however is not a communication tower.
The park surrounding it is called Yongdu-san Park, I think.
Other than the tower, visitors got really excited to see speck of light pink cherry blossoms/sakura which was just started to bloom. To get myself photograph in front of the flowers was actually a challenge as there were always people in the background.
The road leading up to the tower was also lined by cherry blossom trees and people stopped to take photos of this amazing view.
After that, I decided to get up the tower to see what it had to offer.
